ISR lessons are a 6 week commitment.
Lessons are 5 days a week, Monday-Friday
for 10 minutes per day.
A child from 6 months of age can learn to hold their breath under water, roll onto their back and float while they rest and breathe until help arrives. It takes approximately 6 weeks for a child to master these skills.
Your instructor will decide if your child is a Floater or Swim-Float-Swimmer based on their developmental readiness.
Children can learn to hold their breath under water, swim face down, roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, then flip back over and continue swimming. They continue this "swim-float-swim" sequence until they reach the safety of the pool side or the steps. To master these skills takes approximately 6 weeks.
Your instructor will decide if your child is a Floater or Swim-Float-Swimmer based on their developmental readiness.
After they have learned to perform these skills independently, all children then practice these skills fully clothed since most accidents happen when least expected.
Each lesson is no more than 10 minutes long and students attend lessons 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. This schedule is key for the retention of skills. Each lesson is one-on-one with the Instructor and is individualized to meet your child’s needs and abilities.
